Erik Lyde-Stad
Executive Chef & Catering Manager

Born in London Ontario, Executive Chef and Catering Manager Erik began his culinary career at the age of 18. While attending college for electronics engineering, his passion for the art of food overwhelmed him. He soon transferred to the Fanshawe College Culinary School, graduating at the top of his class.

Erik honed his culinary skills by working at various restaurants and hotels, as it was shown through his final culinary exam where he received his red seal.

In 1994, he moved to Vancouver, and finally realized his profound love of southwest cuisine at the Granville Island hotel, Mescaleros Restaurant. Renaissance Vancouver Harborside Hotel (volume& banquet)

Erik has appeared on numerous shows such as Breakfast TV and Chef Michael Smiths TV Show, “Chef at Large.” His talents have also been demonstrated on Chowtime and Secrets of the Restaurant Kitchen.

Erik joined Reel Appetites in 1999, starting off in the film catering division. Working 15 hour days, his drive and energy for his career allowed him to meet and exceed the expectations of celebrities on movie, commercial and film shoots. Till today, as Reel Appetites Chef de Cuisine, he still has that motivation and passion to create memorable meals for all events, small or large.


Angela Fok
Event Coordinator

Born and raised in the heart of Vancouver, Angela has always had an interest in décor of all means, whether it would be arranging dolls on her bed to selecting unique picture frames that accented her walls, the interest soon turned into an artistic career.

Angela graduated form BCIT in 2004 with a certificate in Event Management. She continued her education and graduated from BCIT in 2007 with a second management certificate in Marketing Communications. The balance of a part-time education, a full-time job at RBC and a second part-time job at a retail store, taught her the fine lessons of organization and prioritization.

She has been apart of the BC Lions Society for over 10 years, contributing to society organizing and volunteering for local charity events and fundraisers, even appearing on Timmy’s Telethon at the age of 14.. With her knowledge in event management, she received the opportunity to manage various events including the Vancouver Pacific Lions Annual Banquets of 350+, giving her the experience required to work successfully at Reel Appetites.

Angela joined Reel Appetites in 2008, bringing her originality and love of décor to the wedding and event planning division of the company. Her personable and professional attitude complimented with obsession for perfection is uncanny.

Many have asked if it is stressful being an Event Planner, and she has said, it is the stress of the planning and executing of the event that drives her to work harder to gratify.
